Global Indian Summit Celebrates Excellence at the House of Commons, London
On 30th September 2022, Achievers’ World, in collaboration with the NRI Welfare Society – UK Chapter, hosted the prestigious Global Indian Summit at the historic House of Commons in London. The event was a momentous occasion, commemorating 75 years of India’s independence under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, while also paying tribute to the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation.
The summit brought together a distinguished gathering of leaders, diplomats, and achievers from across the globe, reflecting the spirit of global Indian excellence and unity. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Virendra Sharma, Member of Parliament (UK) and a senior figure in the British–Indian Labour Party. His presence underscored the strong ties between India and the UK, and the growing influence of the Indian diaspora in shaping global narratives.
The event was further graced by Guests of Honour including Mr. Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament; Lord Rami Ranger, Managing Director of Sun Mark Ltd; and Mr. Gauhar Nawab, International President of the NRI Welfare Society of India – UK. Their participation added depth to the summit’s mission of celebrating Indian contributions to global progress and fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
Also in attendance were Mr. Gurinder Singh, Secretary of the NRI Welfare Society – UK Chapter, and Mr. Harish Chandra, Editor of Achievers’ World, who played a pivotal role in curating the summit’s agenda and ensuring its success.
A highlight of the evening was the felicitation ceremony, held within the hallowed halls of the House of Commons. Select achievers from diverse fields—ranging from business and education to social service and innovation—were honoured with the Achievers’ World Leadership Award and the Mahatma Gandhi Samman. These awards recognized individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment, vision, and impact in their respective domains, embodying the values of leadership, service, and excellence.
