VIKSIT BHARAT: AN ERA OF NATION-BUILDING HAS BEGUN

In the life of any nation, history provides a period when the country can make exponential strides in its development journey.

Viksit Bharat @2047 has the vision of making India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of independence. The vision encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance.

By January 25, 2024, the Yatra aims to cover over 2.60 lakh Gram Panchayats and 4000+ Urban Local Bodies across the country. The Yatra has reached the farthest corners of the nation, creating awareness about the government’s welfare schemes.

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a government guarantee through which the government reaches out to the small villages and not only the district headquarters. Over 10 crore people have benefited through various schemes under this initiative in the last two months.”

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has captivated India in just two months, drawing over 15 crore enthusiastic participants. This mammoth people’s participation speaks volumes about the Yatra’s impact on forging a unified path towards a thriving and inclusive India. Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a landmark initiative to ensure 100% saturation of government schemes nationwide.

People’s participation numbers increased dramatically after the campaign was launched in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. While the Yatra had reached out to 2.06 crore people at the end of Week 4 on December 13, 2023, the numbers swelled to 5 crores at the end of the 5th week by December 22, 2023. Over the next four weeks, the Yatra drew 10 crore participants, crossing the 15 crore milestone. As of January 17, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra dashboard read 15.34 crore participants covering 2.21 lakh Gram Panchayats and 9,541 urban locations.

The Yatra embodies the spirit of “Jan Bhagidari” (public participation). Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it aims to reach every eligible individual with welfare schemes through IEC vans across cities and villages. These vans aim to equip communities with knowledge about government schemes, sustainable farming, and access to affordable healthcare, sanitation, and financial independence.

More than four crore people screened in Health Camps

As of January 17, 2024, over four thousand people have been screened in health camps. There are over 38 Lakh registrations on My Bharat. More than two crore Ayushman Bharat health cards have been issued to ensure accessible healthcare for all. The Yatra has covered over two lakh Gram Panchayats. Over 11 Crore people have taken Sankalp towards building a developed India by 2047.

Tangible Impact, Village by Village:

The Yatra’s impact is undeniable. Over 1 Lakh Gram Panchayats have achieved

100% saturation for Ayushman Cards, empowering millions with healthcare access. Clean water through the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ scheme now reaches over 79,000 Gram Panchayats, while 100% land records digitization in over 1.38 Lakh Gram panchayat facilitates transparency and security. Moreover, over 17,000 Gram Panchayats have achieved ODF Plus compliance, marking a testament to clean living.

Beyond Statistics, a Shared Dream:

The Yatra’s true success lies in igniting a collective dream – a dream of an India where progress reaches every doorstep, where all share prosperity, and where development translates into empowered lives. With each covered Gram Panchayat, each enrolled beneficiary, and each pledge taken, the Yatra takes India a step closer to making this dream a reality.

History gives every country a period when it advances its development journey manifold. There are examples of many such countries around us, which have

developed themselves by taking a similar quantum leap in a given time. “That is why this is also the right time for India. We must take advantage of every moment of this golden age; we should not waste even a single moment, says Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Viksit Bharat. Viksit Bharat’s website points out that for inspiration, we all have our long struggle for freedom before us. When we entered the field with one goal, with one zeal and passion, considering freedom as the ultimate goal, we succeeded. During this period, Satyagraha, the path of revolution, awareness about Swadeshi, and consciousness of social and educational reforms, all these streams together became the strength of the freedom movement.

During this period, many such institutions like Kashi Hindu University, Lucknow University, Visva Bharati, Gujarat Vidyapith, Nagpur University, Annamalai University, Andhra University, and the University of Kerala strengthened the consciousness of the country. Someone used to spin the charkha, boycott foreign goods, recite poetry, write in a book or newspaper, and distribute newspaper pamphlets for freedom. Similarly, today, every person, every institution, and organization must move forward with the pledge that whatever I do should be for a developed India.

The aim of your goals and your deliverance should be only one – developed India. For example, as a teacher, think about what you will do to help the country achieve the goal of a developed India. As a university, you should consider what to do so that India develops rapidly. What should happen in the region where you are? How should India move forward rapidly on its path of becoming developed? Whichever education institutes you represent, you have to channel the country’s youth energy for this one goal. Every youth who comes to your institution comes with some characteristics. Their ideas, no matter how diverse they are, have to be linked to the stream of building a developed India.

When Modi talks about suggestions, the sky is wide open in front of you. He hopes to prepare the youth as saplings of the country who will keep the national interest supreme, and we do not have to be limited to just education and skills. As a citizen, it is necessary to increase efforts in this direction to ensure that the country’s citizens remain alert 24 hours a day. Every Indian must bring that consciousness into society; whether cameras are installed or not, people should not jump a red light in traffic.

Whatever product is made here, its quality should be so good that seeing it as Made in India increases the buyer’s pride. When every citizen of the country, whatever role he plays, starts performing his duties, the country will also move forward.

Viksit Bharat’s campaign aims to ensure that, however, small efforts may be, their impact is very big. People’s suggestions are important in rejuvenating the public movement for cleanliness. Your suggestions will be important for how our youth can combat the side effects of modern lifestyle. Besides their virtual worlds, the youth must explore the world around them.

This is the golden age (Amrit kaal) of building a developed India akin to the days preceding examinations. Students exhibit great confidence in their exam preparation yet tirelessly practice until the last moment. Every student dedicates their time and effort toward a singular goal.

Prime Minister Modi has stated that-As citizens of this country, our “exam date” has also been declared. India has 25 years of Amritkaal to work tirelessly, striving for a developed India. Establishing this environment as a collective family responsibility is incumbent upon us all. Today, the world’s population is rapidly ageing and India is empowered by youth power. Experts predict India will lead in terms of a working-age population for the next 25-30 years. That’s why the whole world looks up to the youth of India. Therefore, our youth have the biggest right to decide how developed India should be.

Viksit Bharat campaign aims to connect every youth of the country with the action plan of a developed India. The government wants to mould the voice of the country’s youth into the policy strategy to build a developed India. Given your strong connections with the youth, your contribution and that of your peers are pivotal in this endeavour.

The road of progress we want to take will not be decided by the government alone; the country will decide it. Every citizen of the country will have input and active participation in it. Everyone’s effort, i.e. public participation, is a mantra by which even the biggest resolutions can be accomplished.

Through Viksit Bharat, Modi feels that a developed India can be built through collective efforts. The journey begins now. The leadership rests in the hands of every Indian during this era of nation-building
